Salgado's Bookkeeping ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal and financial information. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to information collected through our website, our contact forms, and the bookkeeping services we provide to you. By using our website or engaging our services, you consent to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. When you contact us or become a client, you may share your name, business name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and financial records such as bank statements, receipts, invoices, and accounting system access.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we may collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referring URLs through cookies and similar technologies.

Information from third parties. With your authorization, we may receive data from accounting platforms (such as QuickBooks Online), financial institutions, and other tools you connect on your behalf.

  • Comply with legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal or financial information. We may share it only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: trusted third parties that help us operate, such as accounting software platforms and secure file storage, under written confidentiality obligations.
  • With your consent: to your CPA, tax preparer, or other advisors when you direct us to share records.

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use it. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, but some features of the site may not function properly without them.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal and financial information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide services. After your engagement ends, we retain records for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, and recordkeeping laws (typically seven years), and then securely delete or anonymize them unless a longer retention period is required by law.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including restricted access controls, encrypted transmission where available, and secure document storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices appropriate to its sensitivity.
